Robert Hopkin

Rob is the President of ProTec and has been doing both residential and commercial inspections for over 26 years. He is a Certified Building Inspector, member of ASHI and NACHI, certified mold inspector and an accredited Level 1 Thermographer.  In addition to running a home inspection business, Rob is a licensed Pest Control Operator so that he and all ProTec inspectors can perform termite inspections with the home inspection.  Rob is licensed and certified to perform all sorts of building inspections and evaluations throughout the Washington metropolitan area. He is a mentor to other building inspectors throughout the country and speaks to groups on a regular basis to help other home inspectors, realtors, and contractors learn how to properly market and run their business. In 2010, Rob and his wife, Michelle, won a national award for business improvement and marketing for building inspectors. 

 Michelle Hopkin

Vice President and General Manager:  Michelle came to the company kicking and screaming. She is a High School Math Teacher by trade and a full time mother of 5. Five years ago she had no intention of working for ProTec, but was pressed into service as a sub one day and has been here ever since. Her masters degree in mathematics along with keeping tabs on kids has given her the ability to juggle many balls at once. She is the heart and soul of the company. As it turns out she is a marketing wiz and since bringing her on board, our business has increased 300%. Thanks in large part to Michelle, we are now one of the largest private home inspection companies in the country.

Chris Jackson

 Chris is one of our newest inspectors, but he is not new to the home inspection business.  He is a 10 year verteran home inspector has has perfromed thousands of building inspections in this area and Cleveland, Ohio where he is originally from.  Chris has a background as a remodeling contractor specializing in flipping homes and worked for years as a licensed roofer in Ohio.  He has been trained to do mold inspections certified and licensed in VA, radon testing, termite inspections, water testing and will soon be doing 203 K inspections for us. One of the benefits of being one of the largest home inspection companies in the country is that we can attract high quality inspectors like Chris. We are thrilled to have him. 

Side note:  He played linebacker for The University of Pittsburg in college so if your home is in a bad neighborhood be sure to stand close to Chris.

Jeff Adler

New Construction Specialist:  Jeff Adler, a Certified ASHI and Maryland Licensed Inspector has been with ProTec for 4 years. He is also a certified radon and termite inspector. Before becoming a Home Inspector, Jeff was a builder in Silver Spring and Bethesda, MD. If you are purchasing a new home you have to have Jeff take a look at it. With his keen eye for detail and extensive building experience, he is truly the best there is.

 Steve Deluca

Steve has been with ProTec for 8 months now and is quickly becoming one of our most popular inspectors. He has a unique perspective as a home inspector in that he has worked as a realtor, a contractor, an artist and a musician.  He has the ability to explain the problems in a home in a way that everyone can understand and is detail oriented.  His college background as a graphic artist and a semi professional photographer give him a better eye for your remodeling project than most home inspectors.  In addition to being a trained professional building inspector he is a certified termite and radon inspector.

 Jeff Broussard

Jeff has been with ProTec for 2 years now and has performed over 1000 fee paid inspections on everything from a small condo to large commercial buildings.  He is a licensed Maryland home inspector, certified radon, termite and mold inspector and is one of our most requested inspectors.  His attention to detail and ability to relate to the customer make him one of the best in the business.  If you can get Jeff when you call consider yourself lucky as he is usually booked solid.

 Heather Dice

Heather has been with us for over a year and is now the one everyone in the office turns to when they need an answer. She is in charge of scheduling inspections, directing the office, and marketing with Michelle.  With Heather in the office there are few phone calls that don't get answered live and we can always give you an answer without the wait.  We get calls from inspectors all over the country asking how they can get someone to answer the phones and schedule as well as Heather does it.
