Must read info before hiring a home inspector in Maryland, DC or Virginia.

• All home inspectors in Maryland are required to be licensed by the state by taking a 48 hour class. This is a good start, but hardly qualifies someone to do a competent inspection. American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
• Certified Inspectors of ASHI have passed a comprehensive exam and performed at least 250 paid inspections.
• ASHI inspectors are prohibited from offering or receiving kickbacks.
• Is the report done with a clipboard and yellow pad or typed with pictures included?
