I would like to thank Jeff Broussard, who inspected the house my daughter and son-in-law are in the process of purchasing in Rockville. (there last name is Foley). Jeff was fantastic, entirely professional and answered every question we asked.  I spent almost 50 years in the IT industry, mostly managing national service organizations and I would have given my left arm if my service reps were as professional and customer oriented as Jeff.

I just wanted to write and thank Mr. Adler and Pro Tec for the thorough and immensely helpful inspection conducted on July 7 at 206 Franklin Avenue in Silver Spring. We decided not to purchase the property, as Mr. Adler's report revealed that the house unfortunately had more needs than we would be able to meet appropriately at this time. Mr. Adler was meticulous in his inspection and very professional in his remarks. We greatly appreciate the detail of the report, which was crucial to our ability to make an informed decision. We are still searching for a home that we are better equipped to care for, and we hope to call Mr. Adler should we find a property we wish to purchase.

In the meantime, we will recommend you to our friends.

I will definitely be recommending you to my friends and associates in the future and will be requesting your services on future purchases. You were extremely thorough and extremely professional. Despite all of the issues we found I actually left the property that day feeling better about the potential purchase than I did going in. You left no stone un-turned, you were focused on working for me and not sidetracked by cell phones or personal business, and you were very honest and up front with your findings. You were everything I would expect and more from an independent third party hired to find problems.

I realize that becoming a home inspector in the State of Maryland can be done by most anyone who is willing to sit through a class and pass a few tests. However, having a home inspector that has experience as a contractor and as a real estate investor is very important. Anyone can poke around with a moisture tester or make broad statements such as, “the windows may not be energy efficient” or “the appliances are old”, but only someone with a real background in construction and real estate, like yourself, could point out problems and make suggestions as to how they should be fixed and whether or not they would need immediate attention. I left that day with a better idea of what order I needed to do things in and the people I would need to help me complete the project.

Please feel free to use me as a reference. I have not closed on the property yet but I am moving forward with the purchase. I will keep you posted on my progress with the repairs and upgrades.

We were very very VERY happy because our agent called on a Friday at 10pm at night and was still able to make an appointment for Sunday. No other place even answered the phone. He then identifies if and how the warts can be corrected. He does this concisely and objectively. He does not submit to "games" or manipulations. He is at the top of the list of those whom I recommend and I would only use him for my personal inspection needs.

Rob found a very hidden mold problem in the attic that turned out to be a huge problem. We voided the deal because the sellers wouldn't cooperate to fix it and it was going to be a major issue. Most inspectors wouldn't have even gone that far back in the dark, unused attic, but he did, and with a flashlight, identified the issue. We can't thank him enough. We've found a new house we're much happier with and will be calling him today to schedule that inspection!
